Wendy Voon attained a Diploma of Textile Design and Production in 2004 (RMIT), majoring in knitting. In 2005 she went on to complete an Advanced Diploma in Textile, Clothing and Footwear, and established her knitwear label. Wendy also undertook a semester of study at the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles ( Canada, 2006).
In 2016 Wendy opened her atelier in Melbourne, from where she made and showcased the work of other independent Australian designers. After 9 years the atelier has now closed and she now sells her pieces online, at design markets and in select boutiques around Australia.
Wendy's awards and grants over the years include:
- Emerging Designer, Flinders Quarters Award - Craft Victoria (2006)
- Ian Potter Cultural Trust - Recipient of grant to undertake research and further studies at the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles
- Invited to judge the Australasian Young Designer Wool Award (2015)
- City of Melbourne Business Expansion Grant (2017)
