Natalie Anna Totterdell

Natalie is a South Coast potter who incorporates her scientific background in the way she approaches her work. She has spent the last few years exploring and experimenting with clay as a medium for creating functional and sculptural works that feature Australia’s diverse and unique natural environment.

Through experimentation of different forms, processes and techniques, she has attempted to nurture a deeper appreciation of the natural world and to portray that to others. Her background in Environmental Science, as well as time spent living in Arnhem Land and now the beautiful Far South Coast of NSW, is a strong influence in her ceramic forms and designs. Her passion for the natural environment and birds particularly, is evident in her subject matter and her attention to detail is characteristic of her designs.
