Kerry-Ann Chapple is the designer/maker behind Girls Own Adventure Textiles. They have been designing and working with textiles for the past forty years - starting as a designer/patternmaker in the fashion industry, as a print designer, then artmaking via the Canberra School of Art, ANU. They bring together all these loves and skills with Girls Own Adventure Textiles, creating luxury textiles pieces for the body and home, handmade from recycled vintage silk kimonos. The core values of Girls Own Adventure Textiles are Beauty, Quality and Respect. Respect for the exquisite vintage textiles they use and for the artisans who created them. Respect for the earth by reusing and recycling wherever possible. Respect for the future owners of their pieces - ensuring the highest quality by lovingly handmaking each item in their studio in Canberra. Each piece is unique, with each design dictated by the individual piece of salvaged vintage cloth.
