Froni's jewellery and homewares celebrate pattern and the beauty within the porcelain body. Her lightweight, colourful work is sumptuously tactile from hand polishing instead of glazing. Inspired by glass making and geometric abstraction, Froni creates wares that bring to mind mid-century Scandinavian design and patterns in the natural world. Art to wear or use.

Froni Binns is a ceramic maker based in Central Victoria. Froni works with porcelain using the Nerikomi technique to create jewellery and small decorative wares. Having originally studied visual art at the ANU in the 1990s in the Graphic Investigation Workshop, with honours in Glass, Froni returned to making 7 years ago as a therapy whilst caring for her elderly parents. She is self taught in ceramics and she now she happily balances making production jewellery ware, with her rewarding work in the community sector.
