Renate Jewellery
Jewellery and Object
Hi I’m Sandra Renate. I’m the designer and maker behind Renate Jewellery. A qualified Industrial Designer, discovering the art of Silversmithing introduced me to sterling silver where techniques learnt have now become part of my craftsmanship. Hand-making each piece, I create one of a kind jewellery pieces, using recycled sterling silver producing organic and sculptural forms.
My studio space, now in East Gippsland, is where my designs begin their journey, starting from either sheet or wire form of recycled sterling silver. Each shape saw pierced from the silver sheet is further shaped, through varying techniques watching its form change or hand shaped from wire making it individual and unique. Not only do I solder my pieces together, I hammer the silver to leave texture marks as part of my finishing process, including repurposing all off-cuts large or small into my designs resulting in no waste from my production process.

Around 2005, as part of a collective, Sandra Renate showcased her designs for the first time at Paddington Markets. Several years later, Renate Design an independent brand, could be seen at various Artisan Maker Markets throughout Sydney.
