Several years after completing Industrial design at RMIT, Melbourne and relocating to Sydney, Sandra Renate began her Silversmithing journey in 1995 learning new techniques through a private jeweller running evening classes. Around 2005, as part of a collective, Sandra Renate showcased her designs for the first time at Paddington Markets. Several years later, Renate Design an independent brand, could be seen at various Artisan Maker Markets throughout Sydney. Her designs to this day can be seen under her rebrand Renate Jewellery, at different country Artisan markets and on a range of online stores.
