Josephine Townsend is a ceramic artist inspired by the colours and textures of the Australian landscape. The colours, shapes and patterns of the Australian landscape and flora underpin her work. She makes a range of functional, sculptural and decorative items. Her coloured inlaid porcelain (nerikomi) work explores the precious qualities of porcelain, the delicacy, the luminous translucence and the pure colour response.
