Ceramics
Claudia of CBF Ceramics merges craftsmanship with contemporary design through small-batch, wheel-thrown tableware, reusable cups, and sculptural works. Her signature marbled clays, carved textures, and layered glazes evoke natural forms. She currently collaborates on BRIC—a sculptural series inspired by Australian flora, defined by bold shapes and vibrant colour.

Claudia Basler Forbes is a Swiss-born ceramic artist now based in Australia. After relocating ten years ago, she shifted from nursing to ceramics, discovering a passion for clay eight years ago. Trained by master potters such as Katherine Mahoney and Malcolm Greenwood, she currently manages and teaches at Soul Clay Studios in Gerringong, guiding emerging artists and managing studio operations.
Her work integrates her Swiss roots and Australian environment, spanning functional ceramics and sculptural forms. Claudia has participated in numerous group shows and curated makers markets, notably collaborating with Ingrid Richardson on a new series for BRIC. Her pieces are available through respected local stockists including Mossy Store and Moss Nest.
In 2024, she received an honorable mention at the Mansfield Emerging World Stage Exhibition in Gulgong. She regularly leads workshops and community projects. Claudia’s ceramics reflect an ongoing exploration of how material, emotion, and environment intersect.
