Bursaria Workshop
Textiles
Bursaria Workshop brings together traditional printmaking techniques and digital pattern-making to create thoughtfully made, environmentally conscious textile products. Natural and human-made forms, contemporary design and colour inspire Abby's work. Each Bursaria Workshop product is mindfully created by hand to create bespoke, functional wares which can be used for many years.

Abby is a braidwood-based designer and printmaker who creates under the name Bursaria Workshop. Her hand printed textiles are stocked in retailers and arts centres in the ACT, NSW and Victoria and loved in homes as far away as Iceland and Chile.
Abby’s work is informed by a love of mid-Century and contemporary design. She takes inspiration from forms and structures in the natural and constructed worlds. Experimentation is central to her creative process. She takes time to test, push and respond to the interactions between screen, ink and fabric. The resulting finished pieces are aesthetically pleasing, highly functional and long-lasting.
Abby is active in Canberra's art and maker community and is passionate about conscious consumerism. She holds a Bachelor of Graphic Design from the University of Western Sydney and an Advanced Diploma of Fine Art majoring in Printmaking from Meadowbank TAFE.
